When the ACO unveiled the 60-car entry list for 85th edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans it included a few familiar names from the 2016 Michelin GT3 Le Mans Cup.
2016 Team Champions TF Sport will be on the grid on the 17th June with a LMGTE AM class Aston Martin Vantage driven by GT3 Le Mans Cup Vice Champion Salih Yoluc. The team have announced that the Turkish driver will be joined by his teammate from 2016 Euan Hankey for the race and for the entire season in the European Le Mans Series.
Swiss driver Thomas Flohr will be driving the no54 Spirit of Race Ferrari 488 GTE in Le Mans and for the FIA World Endurance Championship in 2017 and he will be joined in the car by his 2016 teammate Francesco Castellacci.
Nigel Moore, who raced in the Tockwith Motorsports Audi R8 in the first three rounds of the Michelin GT3 Le Mans Cup last year before moving to LMP3 in the ELMS, will be on the grid with Phil Hanson in Le Mans in a LMP2 spec Ligier-Gibson, which the Tockwith Motorsports team will also run in the ELMS.
Norway’s Egidio Perfetti, who finished third in the driver’s standings at the end of the 2016 season, now has a nervous wait because he and the Mentos –Proton Racing team are on the reserve list for the race which will be run on the 17/18 June 2017.
