R-ace GP Finish Title Winning Season with Victory in Portimão
10/10/2026

After securing the 2026 Michelin Le Mans Cup LMP3 title at Silverstone last month, Enzo Peugeot and Danial Frost finished off their championship winning season in the best way possible by winning the final race of the year in Portugal.  Peugeot crossed the finish line in the no85 R-ace GP Duqueine-Toyota 7 seconds ahead of the two Brutal Fish by Campos Ligiers.

The final 120-minute race was interrupted by five Full Course Yellows and two Safety Car periods.

The LMP3 Pro/Am victory went to the no71 Rinaldi Racing Ligier of Stefan Aust and Felipe Fernandez-Laser, the first win for the German teammates since Road To Le Mans in 2025.  Fernandez-Laser crossed the line in 4th overall, 2.6 seconds ahead of his teammate Mikkel Gaarde Pedersen in the no66 Rinaldi Racing Ligier, with the no34 Inter Europol Competition Ligier in third.

The no98 Motorsport98 of Eric De Doncker and Gillian Henrion finished 4th after receiving a drive through penalty for causing a collision with the no51 AF Corse Ferrari. However, fourth place was good enough to secure the MLMC LMP3 Pro/Am title for a second year in a row.

The GT3 race was won by the no17 Kessel Racing Ferrari, with Lorenzo Innocenti and David Fummanelli taking their third win of the 2026 season ahead of the no77 SMC Motorsport McLaren and the no88 AF Corse Ferrari.

Championship contenders Kessel Racing needed a good result to take the title from Racing Spirit of Léman but the no21 Ferrari had to start at the back of the grid after the car failed post qualifying scrutineering due to the ride height of the car.  This meant that pro driver Giacomo Altoe had to start the race, with the Italian moving swiftly through to lead ahead of the pitstop.

Oscar Ryndziewicz was running third when he took over and was a lap ahead of the no10 Aston Martin of Valentin Hasse Clot after his teammate Philipp Sager found himself on the wrong side of the Safety Car, which put him a lap down to the leading Ferrari.

Hasse Clot moved up to 6th, with the no21 Ferrari falling back to 5th as the bronze rated Ryndziewicz couldn’t keep the pro drivers at bay.  The 8 points for 6th was enough to give the 2026 GT3 title to Philipp Sager and Racing Spirit of Léman, with Hasse Clot finishing second in the standings as he had missed the race at Spa-Francorchamps and wasn’t on the same points as his Austrian teammate.
