Road To Le Mans Facts and Figures

Nineteen Road To Le Mans races have been held since 2016, with teams and drivers standing on the top of the most famous podium in motorsport during the weekend of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.  This year will be the 11th edition of RTLM.  Instead of two 60-minute races, the 2026 edition will be a single 3-hour race on Friday 12 June.

Here are some facts and figures from the previous ten years of Road To Le Mans.

  • The first RTLM in 2016 was a single 55-minute race.  The MLMC that year was for GT3 cars only.  RTLM was the first time that LMP3 and GT3 raced together, with the LMP3 competitors being non championship entries.

 

  • Ferrari have won more RTLM than any other manufacturer with seven wins from the nineteen races. The wins were in 2016, 2018 x2, 2019 x2, 2021 and 2024.

 

  • Aston Martin has won three times (2017 x2 and 2024), four manufacturers have won twice - BMW (2023 x2), Porsche (2021 / 2022), Lamborghini (2020 x2) and Mercedes-AMG (2025 x2) and Honda have taken one win in 2022.

 

  • In LMP3 Ligier have taken twelve wins, with Duqueine and Norma on four wins each and Ginetta one victory in 2025.

 

  • The first RTLM winners in 2016 were Thomas Laurent and Alexandre Cougnaud in LMP3 for DC Racing and Aleksey Basov and Victor Shaitar for AF Corse.  Thomas Laurent won in LMP3 Pro/Am in 2025 in the DKR Engineering Ginetta G61 with Antti Rammo (Pictured Below).
  • Five LMP3 drivers have won the RTLM twice.
    • Thomas Laurent – 2016 and 2025
    • Jean Glorieux – 2017 and 2020
    • Laurents Hörr – 2019 and 2020
    • Michael Benham – 2018 and 2022
    • Duncan Tappy – 2018 and 2022

 

  • Six GT3 Drivers have won RTLM twice.
    • Ahmad Al Harthy and Tom Jackson – 2017 x2
    • Mikkel Mac and Fabien Lavergne – 2019 x2
    • Andrea Caldarelli and Hiroshi Hamaguchi – 2020 x2

 

  • High profile RTLM winners

  • In 2025 Léna Bühler became the first female driver to win a Road To Le Mans race, the Swiss driver winning the second 60-minute race alongside Matteo Quintarelli in the no50 23Events Racing Ligier JS P325-Toyota.

 

  • AF Corse have been the most successful team in RTLM, with five wins.  Two as AF Corse (2016 and 2018), two wins with Luzich Racing (2019 x2) and one with Spirit of Race (2018).

 

  • Two LMP3 teams have won RTLM four times. 
    • DKR Engineering in 2017, 2019, 2020 and 2025.
    • COOL Racing / CLX Motorsport in 2020, 2022, 2023 and 2025.

 

  • Three GT3 teams have won RTLM twice –
    • Team WRT – 2023 x2
    • TF Sport – 2017 x2
    • FFF Racing Team by ACM – 2020 x2

CHAMPIONSHIP POINTS

  • The championship points awarded will be different in 2026 from previous seasons. The winners of each category will receive 38 points, 27 for second, 23 for third, 18-15-12-9-6-3 and 2 points for 10th place. 

 

  • The holder of pole position will continue to receive an additional championship point. 

 

  • Only full season entries are eligible for championship points. 

Road To Le Mans is Round 3 of the 2026 Michelin Le Mans Cup and will be held on Friday 12 June, with qualifying the day before.
