After a spectacular season opener in Barcelona earlier this month, 44 cars have been entered for Round 2 of the 2026 Michelin Le Mans Cup at the Circuit Paul Ricard on Saturday 2 May, with 10 drivers and 13 cars racing under French colours.
The grid for the 2-hour race in Le Castellet will see 24 cars entered in the LMP3 category, 10 in LMP3 Pro/Am and 10 in GT3, with the 30 teams and 88 drivers representing 27 different nations from across the globe.
The LMP3 grid will see 10 cars run by French teams, with 6 drivers racing at home in Le Castellet.
The first race of the season in Barcelona saw a podium lockout for French teams with R-ace GP finishing 1st and 3rd, with 23Events Racing claiming the second step of the podium at the chequered flag.
The no85 R-ace GP Duqueine claimed maximum points in Spain after French driver Enzo Peugeot took pole position and, along with his Singaporean teammate Danial Frost, took the 25-points for the win. Peugeot finished 8.4 seconds ahead of the no50 23Events Racing Ligier of Colin Queen and Giovanni Maschio and a further 3.2 seconds ahead of teammates Léna Bühler and Zack Scoular in the no86 Duqueine-Toyota. All three crews are unchanged for the race in Le Castellet.
23Events Racing will also run a second Ligier-Toyota for their home race, with Anglo-Italian pairing Isaac Barashi and Matteo Franco Segre in the no5 car.
ANS Motorsport will once again run two cars, with French driver Louis Iglesias joining British teammate Maxwell Dodds in the no9 Ligier. Forestier Racing by VPS will also run two cars, with the no29 Ligier seeing French driver Luciano Morano and American Roee Meyuhas teaming up again after finishing fifth in Spain.
Trajectus Motorsport made their MLMC debut in Barcelona, with Mathis Poulet joining his Portuguese teammate André Vieira and looking for a top 10 finish for his home race. The final French team on the grid is M Racing and they will also run a single Ligier-Toyota in Le Castellet.
Spanish team Brutal Fish by Campos also made their MLMC debut in Barcelona, with mixed fortunes for their two cars. The no19 Ligier finished 4th in the hands of Matus Ryba and Lucas Fluxà Cross, while the no12 Ligier failed to finish, with French driver Arthur Rogeon hoping for better luck in the first of two races in France.
Former Team Champions Nielsen Racing will run a pair of Duqueine D09s, with France’s Jules Caranta joining South African Mikaeel Pitamber in the no4 car.
CLX Motorsport will run a pair of Ligiers, with former champion David Droux teaming up once again with his Swiss teammate Cédric Oltramare.
BWT Muecke Motorsport will run a single Duqueine D09, while Vector Sport RLR, High Class Racing, Bretton Racing, Ajith RedAnt Racing, Inter Europol Competition, Team Virage and More Motorsport will all run a single Ligier JS P325-Toyota in the top class.
The 10-car strong LMP3 Pro/Am field will feature one French team, Racing Spirit of Léman, and two French drivers.
Czech team Bretton Racing took the 25 points for victory in Spain, with Poland’s Jacek Zielonka and Algerian racer Léo Sami Robinson heading to Le Castellet as championship leaders.
German team Rinaldi Racing had a good result with the no66 Ligier driven by Steve Parrow and Mikkel Gaarde Pedersen finishing second and the no71 car of Felipe Fernandez-Laser and Stefan Aust finishing fourth. The two Rinaldi Ligier were split by the no24 Racing Spirit of Léman Ligier of Anglo-Dane duo Christian Gisy and Oskar Kristensen.
Reigning champions Eric de Doncker and Gillian Henrion didn’t get their title defence off to a great start, finishing 6th in the race. Henrion will be hoping for better luck for his home race, where the Motorsport98 Ligier finished second last season.
The other French driver on the LMP3 Pro/Am grid is Romain Vozniak, who will join Indian actor Ajith Kumar in the no16 Ajith Redant by Virage Ligier, forming the only Bronze-Bronze driver line up on the grid.
Alex Bukhantsov claimed the first pole of the season in Spain and will be rejoining his American teammate Shawn Rashid in the no34 Inter Europol Competition Ligier once again in Le Castellet.
The 10-car grid is completed by P4 Racing, High Class Racing and GG Classics.
The 10-car GT3 class will see two French teams, Racing Spirit of Léman and Code Racing Development, and two French drivers, Valentin Hasse Clot and Jean-Baptiste Simmenauer, taking part in the 2-hour race in Le Castellet.
The no10 Racing Spirit of Léman Aston Martin Vantage heads to France as championship leaders after Valentin Hasse Clot and his Austrian teammate Philipp Sager took the 25-points for the win in Spain. Sager won the Le Castellet round in 2025 with the other French team on the grid, Code Racing Development, and will be hoping to repeat the success at the Circuit Paul Ricard to extend his and his teammates championship lead.
Code Racing Development will once again run a single Aston Martin Vantage, with Colombian Sebastian Moreno claiming pole position in Spain, but was unable to score any points in the race.
The Dinamic GT Porsche will have an unchanged line up of Matteo Cressoni and Reinhold Krahn, the Italian-Canadian pairing finishing second in Spain ahead of French driver Jean-Baptiste Simmenauer and his Spanish teammate Gonzalo de Andres Martin in the no77 SMC Motorsport McLaren 720S.
Reigning champions Eliseo Donno and Alessandro Cozzi will be looking for a better run in Le Castellet than they had in Spain in the no51 AF Corse Ferrari to get their title defence back on track. AF Corse will run a second Ferrari 296 for Ray Acosta and Marco Erminio Bonanomi.
Kessel Racing will run a pair of Ferraris once again, with Lorenzo Ferrari replacing Giacomo Altoe in the no21 296, and Biogas Motorsport adding another, bring the total number of Ferrari 296 GT3s to five. The GT3 grid is completed by the third Aston Martin Vantage run by Ecurie Ecosse Blackthorn.
The Le Castellet round of the 2026 Michelin Le Mans Cup will take place on the 1st and 2nd May, with FP1 and FP2 on Friday 1st, with qualifying and the 120-minute race on Saturday 2nd May.
