FP1: R-ace GP Fastest in Interrupted Practice Session

The first Free Practice session of the Road To Le Mans weekend was interrupted by two red flags and three slow zone periods that meant the competitors had only a few opportunities to set a fast lap on the 13.6km Circuit des 24 Heures.

The no85 R-ace GP Duqueine was the quickest car on track, with championship leader Enzo Peugeot setting a lap of 3m50.938, 0.553s ahead of Le Castellet winner Colin Queen in the no50 23Events Racing Ligier.

Quentin Antonel posted the fastest lap in LMP3 Pro/Am, with the no3 DKR Engineering Ligier lapping the circuit inn 3m52.122, 0.914s ahead of the no66 Rinaldi Racing Ligier of Mikkel Gaarde Pedersen and 2.986s ahead of the third fastest car, the no28 Team Virage Ligier.

The quickest car in GT3 was the no95 United Autosports McLaren, with Garnet Patterson putting in a 3m57.976 lap of the Circuit des 24 Heures, the Australian’s time 0.202s ahead of Morris Schuring in the no45 High Class Racing Porsche 911. The no51 AF Corse Ferrari was third quickest, just 0.083s behind the Porsche at the chequered flag.

Free Practice 2 is due to start at 20h30 this evening.
