Le Castellet round is now over, let's see what the drivers of the 2020 season have to say about this first race in the south of France.
Mark Crader - N°20 Grainmarket Racing Duqueine M30-D08
“The race was interesting, and it didn't turn out too bad in the end. We had a terrible qualifying (23rd) and to finish eighth is as good as you could expect, a bit lucky in places. The new car feels nice, I think we've got better balance than the last one and it's just the first step on the learning curve."
Wayne Boyd - N°23 United Autosports Ligier JS P320
“It’s been a really good opening weekend in the Michelin Le Mans Cup. Working with John has been great and he’s improved over the course of the prologue and into the race weekend so I’m looking forward to seeing what we can do during the rest of the season. The race was tough. We had good pace but I think the penalty was a bit harsh. But either way, John’s had a good weekend, which is the main thing. Onto Spa.”
Yury Wagner - N°11 Racing Experience Duqueine M30-D08
“I really enjoyed my first race. There was a lot to learn but the team did a great job all weekend. It was a shame that the qualifying session was cut short because I was on course to set my fastest lap and start a little higher up the grid, but that’s racing. It was a crazy start, but I was pleased to hold my position and then settle in and build a gap. There is always lots of contact in this category and I focused on keeping the racing clean and looking after the car, so I could hand over to Gary in a good position. It is a shame to retire but we can be proud as a team of how we managed the race until that point. I can’t wait to get back in the car again soon.”
