The no24 United Autosports Ligier was the quickest of the 31 competitors at the end of the first 60 minute Free Practice session of the Michelin Le Mans Cup race weekend at Le Castellet.
Wayne Boyd posted a 1m54.093 lap late in the session that was declared wet by the Race Director, with all the top times coming in the last few minutes as the track dried. The British driver’s time was just two tenths ahead of the no20 GrainMarket Racing Norma of Alex Mortimer, with another 0.5 sconds to the third placed car, the no43 Keo Racing Ligier of Michael Markussen.
The no71 Luzich Racing Ferrari was the quickest of the GT3 runners, with Mikkel Mac setting a 1m56.917 lap time late in the session to finish the session in 8th overall. The no51 Spirit of Race Ferrari was second fastest after Christoph Ulrich set a 1m57.258. The no7 Scuderia Villorba Corse Mercedes was third fasest with a 1m57.891.
The session was interrupted with ten minutes remaining on the clock by a Full Course Yellow to recover a car that had gone off into the barriers.
The second Free Practice session will take place later today at 17h15 CET.
