With all of the six titles still to win, the Spa-Francorchamps round promises to be an intense battle on one of the world’s most challenging race tracks.
In LMP3, the reigning champion DKR Engineering (Laurents Hörr and Francois Kirmann) is leading the class with 83 points. Since the beginning of the season the team from Luxembourg scored two wins in Barcelona and Road To Le Mans, two second place in Le Castellet and Monza, a sixth place in the first race of Road To Le Mans and finally 2 pole positions. 17 points behind is the n°25 Lanan Racing Norma M30 driven by Michael Benham and Duncan Tappy with 66 points followed by the n°2 Nielsen Racing Norma of Tony Wells and Colin Noble on 61 points.
The GT3 class is led by the n°71 Luzich Racing Ferrari 488 GT3 of Fabien Lavergne and Mikkel Mac with 87 points. After fives races, the swiss team scored four third position, one victory in Monza and two pole position.
The reigning champions, Sergio Pianezzola and Giacomo Piccini, with the n°8 Kessel Racing 488 GT3 are second with 80 points. Finally, in third position and 43 points behind the leader is the n°51 Spirit of Race 488 of Christoph Ulrich and Maurizio Mediani.
Everything is still possible in the two classes, the fifth round of the 2019 Michelin Le Mans Cup in Spa-Francorchamps promises to be action-packed with the title chase that will get stronger and stronger.
