The second and final Free Practice session of the weekend in Le Castellet saw the no71 Team Virage Ligier take the top spot with Canadian Garett Grist lapping the Circuit Paul Ricard in 1m50.192.
This time was 0.5 seconds slower than the best time posted by Wayne Boyd in the no23 United Autosports Ligier earlier in the day and it was Boyd who set the second fastest time in FP2, a 1m50.369 lap, 0.177s behind Grist.
The third and fourth fastest times went to the no66 Rinaldi Racing Duqueine and the no37 Cool Racing Ligier respectively, the no37 Ligier just over 0.5 seconds behind the lead car.
The GT3 class was led by the no92 Herberth Motorsport Porsche 911, with Alfred Renauer setting a 1m55.033 lap, two tenths ahead of the no61 AF Corse Ferrari, with the no8 Iron Lynx Ferrari third quickest a further tenth of a second behind.Like the LMP3 cars, the best times in FP2 were 0.4 seconds slower than the best times set in FP1.
Qualifying for Round 2 of the 2021 Michelin Le Mans Cup will get underway at 12h10 tomorrow with the 15-minute GT3 session, followed by the LMP3 session at 12h35.The 2-hour race is due to start at 16h30 tomorrow afternoon.
