The grid for the inaugural Michelin GT3Le Mans Cup race has been decided by an exciting first qualifying session, with the no7 BMS Scuderia Italia Ferrari of Luigi Lucchini taking the top spot at the end of the second 15 minute qualifying session with a 1m42.905 lap ahead of the no88 Mentos Racing Porsche 911 GT3R driven by Egidio Perfetti and Salih Yoluc the no34 TF Sport Aston Martin V12 Vantage GT3.
The top three drivers were all inside the GTC pole position time of 1m43.704 set at the 2015 ELMS race and with the no55 FFF Racing Team by ACM McLaren 650S of Hiroshi Hamaguchi finishing the session in fourth place the top four cars are all from different manufacturers and covered by less than one second.
Round 1 of the 2016 Michelin GT3 Le Mans Cup will begin at 17h00 this afternoon.
