Facts and figures about the Spa-Francorchamps Round

The Belgium track will host on the 23rd of September the fifth round of the 2017 Michelin Le Mans Cup for the second year in a row. Since its creation in 1920 the Spa-Francorchamps circuit has always been adapted to the latest safety standards and hosts now the biggest motorsports events in the world from the F1 Grand Prix of Belgium to the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps (FIA WEC).

Here are some facts and figures about the 2017 edition of the Spa-Francorchamps Round

  • Track length : 7.004km
  • 20 turns : 9 left and 11 right
  • 22 cars will take part to the race, driven by 44 drivers from all over the world
  • 21 teams will be at the start and 12 nations will be represented

  • Motorsport98 will be the sole team from Belgium with Eric de Doncker and Andrew Meyrick at the wheel of the Ligier JSP3 n°98.
  • All eyes will be on Jean Glorieux, as the Belgium driver and his teammate are leading the championship with an advantage of 25 points with DKR Engineering.
  • In the GT3 class, the Italians of Ebimotors will come to Spa as the leaders of the category followed by Lee Mowle and Optimum Racing.

Plenty of action is waiting for the fans from Belgium. Entry is free as well as the paddock to be at the heart of the race.
