The top two LMP3 title contenders were neck and neck in the opening free practice session at Silverstone. At the end of the 60-minute session it was Arthur Rogeon setting the fastest lap in the no12 Brutal Fish by Campos Ligier, the French driver posting a 1m54.659 lap, just 0.124s ahead of championship leader Enzo Peugeot in the no85 R-ace GP Duqueine.
British team Nielsen Racing were third quickest on their home track, with Jules Caranta posting a 1m54.874, 0.091s behind Peugeot and 0.301s ahead of Colin Queen in the no50 23Events Racing Ligier.
The LMP3 Pro/Am field was headed by the no24 Racing Spirit of Leman Ligier, with Oskar Kristensen setting the best lap of the session with a 1m55.916, 0.176s ahead of Leo Sami Robertson in the no62 Bretton Racing. The Barcelona race winner was nearly half a second faster than championship leader Gillian Henrion in the no98 Motorsport98, the reigning class champion lapping Silverstone in 1m56.549.
The championship leading no10 Racing Spirit of Leman Aston Martin Vantage was the quickest of the 10 GT3 entries. Valentin Hasse Clot lapped in 1m59.837, four tenths ahead of reigning champion Eliseo Donno in the no51 AF Corse Ferrari. British team Ecurie Ecosse Blackthorn were third quickest, with Tom Canning posting a 2m00.244 lap in the no91 Aston Martin Vantage, just 0.009s behind Donno and 0.156s ahead of the no17 Kessel Racing Ferrari.
