The Road to Le Mans event forms part of the Michelin Le Mans Cup season, meaning United Autosports two full time entries of John Schauerman, Wayne Boyd, Daniel Schneider and Andy Meyrick will be battling for championship points as the series reaches the half way mark.
Jim McGuire will also be entering the Road to Le Mans event, alongside regular European Le Mans Series team mate, Duncan Tappy. Jim rejoins the team after missing the last ELMS round, where Duncan finished second alongside Andrew Bentley, after a very wet race.
Shaun Lynn will also return to the team, racing alongside Joe Macari. Shaun last raced for United in Abu Dhabi at the end of last year and has previously entered the Michelin Le Mans Cup with United. Joe has previous Le Mans experience but the Road to Le Mans event will mark his United Autosports debut.
The Road to Le Mans event consists of two free practice sessions, two qualifying sessions and two races. The first qualifying session will determine the grid for race one and can be done by either driver. The second qualifying session will determine the grid for race two, but must be done by the bronze rated driver. Race one will take place on Friday afternoon, while race two will take place on Saturday morning, just a few hours before the Le Mans 24 Hours begins.
