Reigning class champions Eric De Doncker and Gillian Henrion are leading the standings in the no98 Motorsport98 Ligier-Toyota, the three-time winners currently on 109-points after five races, just 14-points ahead of Silverstone race winners Steve Parrow and Mikkel Gaarde Pedersen in the no66 Rinaldi Racing Ligier JS P325.
At the end of the 2025 season finale, the no66 Rinaldi Racing Ligier finished third behind the winning no34 Inter Europol Competition and second place no98 Motorsport98. The result was enough to give Steve Parrow and Rinaldi Racing the title ahead of Eric De Doncker, Gillian Henrion and Motorsport98 by just one point.
However, the no34 Ligier was given a post-race time penalty due to José Fernandes Cautela not completing the required minimum driving time, dropping the car to 4th place. This promoted the no98 crew to first place and the no66 crew to second, which then meant the title went to Eric De Doncker, Gillian Henrion and Motorsport98, with a 3-point advantage over Steve Parrow and Rinaldi Racing.
This year the no98 Motorsport98 Ligier needs to finish 4th or higher in the final 2-hour race on Saturday 10 October to be guaranteed the 2026 LMP3 Pro/Am title for the second year in a row. However, Rinaldi Racing will be doing everything possible to turn the tables on their rivals and take the victory that could secure the title in their favour one year later.
