Racing Spirit of Léman is the current team championship leader, with the no10 Aston Martin Vantage on 92-points at the top of the standings. Austrian Philipp Sager is the current driver’s championship leader after two wins in Le Mans and Barcelona. His French teammate Valentin Hasse Clot is third in the standings on 80-points after missing the race in Belgium in August.
Philipp Sager holds a slim 5-point advantage over British driver Oscar Lee Ryndziewicz in the no21 Kessel Racing Ferrari. Ryndziewicz, who has 87-points, has shared the no21 Ferrari with Lorenzo Ferrari, with whom he won the race at Spa-Francorchamps, and Marco Ermino Bonanomi, who he finished second with at Silverstone, with the two drivers lying in 10th and 8th place in the standings respectively.
Victory for either of the top two contenders would secure the 2026 Michelin Le Mans Cup GT3 title for the team and driver.
The other two cars that are still mathematically still in contention for the title are the no54 Dinamic GT Porsche of Matteo Cressoni and Reinhold Krahn and the no17 Kessel Racing Ferrari of Silverstone race winners David Cleto Fumanelli and Lorenzo Ferdinando Innocenti.
Matteo Cressoni, the 2021 ELMS LMGTE Champion, and his Canadian teammate Reinhold Krahn are on 72-points, 20-points behind Philipp Sager. Fumanelli and Innocenti are on 68-points, 24 behind the leader, but, with 26-points still to be won, they are still able to take the title should they win the race, and their rivals fail to score in Portugal.
The rest of the 10-car full season grid are over 26-points behind the Racing Spirit of Léman Aston Martin are unable to challenge for the title in Portugal.
