The current leader of the championship, TF Sport, will line up in the n°34 Aston Martin Vantage V12 GT3 driven by Salih Yoluc and Euan Hankey. After just missing out on a second podium when they took 4th place in the Road to Le Mans last month, the British team is ready to fight hard to get back to winning ways in Austria.
The Austrian grid will feature no less than 7 Ferraris, including a new entry, the Ferrari F488 n°72 of SMP Racing with Russians Aleksey Basov and Victor Shaitar at the wheel. The F488 won on its Michelin GT3 Le Mans Cup debut at Road to Le Mans, with both drivers being previous winners in the ELMS GTC class at Red Bull Ring - Basov in 2014 and Shaitar in 2013.
AF Corse will line up 3 Ferraris including 2 F458 Italia GT3, the n° 14 driven by the Belgians Pierre-Marie De Leener and Adrien De Leener and the 71 with Felipe Barreiros and Mads Rasmussen. The third AF Corse Ferrari will be the n°51 F488 of Francesco Castellacci and Thomas Flohr, who won the GTC class in the ELMS race at the Red Bull Ring last season. The Italian-Swiss pairing are currently 4th in the GT3 Le Mans Cup classification. Another F488 will be racing under the British flag of FF Corse and driven by the Britons Ivor Dunbar and Johnny Mowlem.
China will be well represented in Austria with the 2 entries of FFF Racing team by ACM. A Lamborghini Hurican and the n° 55 McLaren 650S driven by Hiroshi Hamaguchi and Adrian Quaife-Hobbs, that is lying in second in the series classification.
The French team Classic and Modern Racing will have its n°26 Ferrari F458 Italia GT3 racing in Austria with Nicolas Misslin and Matthieu Vaxivière at the wheel. The two French drivers finished third in Imola and will do their best to repeat this result in Austria.
The last Italian team of the grid is Scuderia Villorba Corse that will compete with the Ferrari F458 Italia GT3 n°8.
The diversity of the Red Bull Ring grid is underlined with the Audi R8 LMS n°19 of Tockwith Motorsport and last, but not least, the n°88 Mentos Racing Porsche 911 GT3R, which took third place at Le Mans, driven by Egidio Perfetti and the only Austrian driver of the race, Klaus Bachler.
The Red Bull Ring will be the third round of the six races series and the green flag will be waved on the 16th of July at 17:00. Two free practice sessions will be held on Friday 15th and qualifying on Saturday 16th at 11:10.
The ELMS weekend in Austria will also features various Renault Sport races (Renault Sport Trophy and Formula Renault 2.0), with the main event of the weekend will be the third round of the European Le Mans Series, the 4 Hours of Red Bull Ring.
Entry to the event is free, with a free access to the paddock and to the autograph session on Sunday 17th of July. There will be plenty of entertainment for the whole family both on and off track.
