SPV Racing has entered its Ligier JS P3 in the Le Mans Cup and declared its intentions to run its Ferrari 458 GT3 in the championship as well.
SPV Racing the Swedish – Spanish team based at Costa del Sol outside Malaga will feature an experienced Spanish / Danish driver line up in the Ligier LMP3 car # 44, Alvaro Fontes and Kim Rodkjaer.
Alvaro Fontes with 249 race starts with 12% race win and 27,3 % podium rate has a wide experience based including, Seat TCR, Ferrari 430 GT 2 as well as Ligier LMP3 in VdV and ELMS. “I’m very excited to be part of this ambitious project, I’m going to do my best to use all my experience as a driver. Our target is to be competing in the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2019 and the Le Mans Cup 2017 is an important step for me and the team”, says Alvaro Fontes, SPV Racing Le Mans Cup driver.
Kim Rodkjaer who raced with SPV Racing LMP 3 in ELMS in the 2016 4 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps started his career in 2008 in the Peugeot Spider Cup and made it into the top of Danish Motorsports in 2012, competing in the Danish Thunder Sport Championship with Fukamuni Racing, (together with Jan Magnussen), and continued in his own team the year after.
Kim was one of the founders of the Danish Supertourisme Turbo championship in which he competed in 2015 and 2016, before taking the step into sportscar racing, having his debut at the ELMS at Spa in September last year.
