The second free practice session of the day ended with the no55 Spirit of Race Ligier of Claudio Sdanewitsch and Michele Rugolo heading the timing screens with a 1m27.500 just 0.007 ahead of the no3 DKR Engineering Norma and the no22 United Autosports Ligier, with both cars posting a 1m27.507 lap of the 4.3km Red Bull Ring circuit at the end of the 60-minute session.
The best LMP3 time of the day still belonged to the no79 Nielsen Racing Ligier of Colin Noble and Tony Wells with the British team setting a 1m26.999 lap in the first free practice session.
The fastest of the GT3 runners was the no7 Lee Mowle Mercedes AMG GT3 of Lee Mowle and Phil Keen, with a best lap of 1m30.106, the fastest GT3 time of the day. The no95 Spirit of Race Ferrari of Christoph Ulrich and Maurizio Mediani was second fastest with a session best time of 1m30.388, just 0.001s faster than the no46 Ebimotors Lamborghini of Emanuele Busnelli and Fabio Babini.
Qualifying for Round 3 of the 2017 Michelin Le Mans Cup at the Red Bull Ring in Austria will begin at 12h00 tomorrow, with the 2-hour race getting underway at 16h00.
