Road To Le Mans: Family Ties

Endurance Racing is all about team work between the drivers and their team. The Road to Le Mans will feature 50 cars with two drivers per car and while most will have built up a working relationship between them over the course of a season or two, some have relationships going back a lot further than that.

Two of the cars on the 2017 LMP3 grid will feature family driver line ups. The no90 AT Racing Ligier JS P3-Nissan is driven by father and son duo Alexander Talkanista Senior and Junior in their first season in prototypes. The Belarussian pairing were front runners in the ELMS LMGTE class before moving up to LMP3 in 2017 and will be looking forward to their first run on the full 13.6km circuit at Le Mans.

The no10 Duqueine Engineering Ligier-Nissan will be raced by brothers Antonin and Lucas Borga. The Swiss duo will be led by Antonin, who is the 2016 Championnat de France FFSA Supertourisme Vice Champion, with brother Lucas as the bronze driver in the line up.

There is also one other high profile family connection on the LMP3 grid and that is between Yann Ehrlacher, driver of the no19 M.Racing-YMR Norma M3-Nissan and team boss and former multiple FIA World Tour Car Champion Yvan Muller, who is Yann’s uncle.
