The first Free Practice session of the final event of the 2016 season took place at the Autodromo do Estoril under gray skies with the no14 AF Corse Ferrari F458 Italia GT3 of Adrien de Leener setting the fastest lap of the 60-minute session. The Belgian driver set a 1m40.415 lap right at the end of the session, 0.244 seconds ahead of the no51 AF Corse Ferrari F488 of Francesco Castellacci and Thomas Flohr.
The no88 Mentos Racing Porsche of Klaus Bachler and Edigio Perfetti was the quickest of the three championship contenders finishing in third with a 1m40.825 lap, just 0.061 ahead of Salih Youluc in the Team Championship leading no34 TF Sport Aston Martin.
The no72 SMP Racing Ferrari F488 of Drivers Championship leaders Aleksey Basov and Victor Shaitar was ninth quickest with a best lap of 1m42.439, two seconds behind the no14 AF Corse F458.
Free Practice 2 will take place at 17h45 this afternoon.
