Interview with Soheil Ayari
26/08/2016

What attracted you to race in the Michelin GT3 Le Mans Cup?

“There are several reasons. First of all because it is organised by the ACO, an organisation that I know well because I participated several times to the 24 Hours of Le Mans and in the championships that they have created. Also it’s a sprint class and sprint races and I missed that. We started the French championship this year; we can say that we won it. We are starting this championship in the middle of the season because it was complicated to start at the beginning with the French Championship. We know the cars really well, as well as the circuits and this is a great championship; well organised.”

Have you worked with the Classic & Modern Racing team before?

“Yes, I won the French Championship with them this year.”

You have raced at the Circuit Paul Ricard on many occasions.  What are your thoughts on the circuit you will be racing on this weekend?

“After the 24 Hours of Le Mans track, Le Castellet is the most beautiful French circuit.  I did a lot of races in this track, in single seater, GT, prototype, Le Mans Series and also all the pre-season tests and it is always nice to come here. Not because of the weather but also because of the races that are unforgettable everytime. The part that I prefer is the Signe corner and the entry to Sainte Beaume.”
