The no97 CLX Motorsport Ligier was the fastest car out of the 42 strong field that will compete in Round 2 of the 2026 Michelin Le Mans Cup at the Circuit Paul Ricard tomorrow.
David Droux set the best lap time of the 60-minute session, with a 1m59.026 around the 5.821km track. The time was just 0.067s ahead of the no9 ANS Motorsport Ligier of Louis Iglesias, with the no92 Forestier Racing by VPS Ligier-Toyota third quickest, with Sebastian Bach setting the 1m59.446 lap. Barcelona race winners Enzo Peugeot and Danial Frost finished the session in 7th place, with Peugeot posting a 1m58.871, 0.845s behind the CLX Ligier.
The top car on LMP3 Pro/Am was the no66 Rinaldi Racing Ligier of Mikkel Gaarde Pedersen and Steve Parrow, with Pedersen posting the best lap of 1m59.874, which was good enough for 8th overall in the practice session. Barcelona race winners Léo Sami Robinson and Jacek Zielonka were second fastest in LMP3 Pro/Am with Robinson setting a 2m00.226 lap in the no62 Bretton Racing Ligier-Toyota. The no34 Inter Europol Competition Ligier was third fastest in the class with Shawn Rashid posting a 2m00.477.
The GT3 class was headed by the no11 Code Racing Development Aston Martin Vantage, the winning car from the 2025 race in Le Castellet. Ethan Ischer setting the class benchmark time of 2m03.625, just 0.006s ahead of the Valentin Hasse Clot in the no10 Racing Spirit of Léman Aston Martin.
Thomas Canning made it an Aston Martin 1-2-3, with the British driver lapping in 2m04.468, just 0.001s ahead of the no88 AF Corse Ferrari 296 of Marco Erimino Bonanomi.
The second 60-minute Free Practice session will take place this evening at 18h40.
