Silverstone Round
The second and final Free Practice session for Round 4 of the Michelin GT3 Le Mans Series took place at Le Castellet under clear blue skies and high temperatures.
The no25 FF Corse Ferrari 488 topped the timing screens with Johnny Mowlem’s best lap of 1m59.424 setting the standard for the 60-minute session but still 0.7 seconds slower than then best time set in Free Practice One. The no72 SMP Racing Ferrari 488 was second quickest with Victor Shaitar’s time just 0.068s behind Mowlem.
The 3rd and 4th fastest cars were also Ferraris, with the no14 AF Corse Ferrari 458 of Adrien De Leener ahead of the no51 AF Corse Ferrari 488 of Francesco Castellacci.
The no88 Mentos Racing Porsche was the quickest non Ferrari, finishing the session 0.718s adrift of the no25 FF Corse Ferrari’s best time.
The no55 FFF Racing Team by ACM McLaren 650S which had topped the times in Free Practice One didn’t take part in FP2 due to a technical problem which the team say will be fixed in time for qualifying.
Qualifying for Round 4 of the 2016 Michelin GT3 Le Mans Cup will take place at 11h15 tomorrow morning and is followed at 17h00 by the 120-minute race.
