The no3 DKR Engineering Norma M30-Nissan of Michelin Le Mans Cup LMP3 championship leaders Jean Glorieux and Alex Toril finished the second 60-minute session of the opening day of the event at Spa at the top of the time sheets.
Alex Toril posted the best lap time of 2m16.507, 1.5 seconds quicker than the best time set in FP1 and three tenths better than Alex Kapadia in the no14 RLR MSport Ligier, the British driver setting a 2m16.883.
The main challengers for the 2017 title, Colin Noble and Tony Wells in the no79 Nielsen Racing Ligier-Nissan were third quickest with Noble setting a 2m17.378, 0.871 seconds behind the lead car ahead of tomorrow mornings qualifying session.
The fastest lap in the GT3 class was recorded by the no20 Gulf Racing UK Porsche 911 with Ben Barker setting a 2m20.690, 1.4 seconds better than the best lap of the morning session. Barker’s time was 1.44 seconds ahead of the no7 Lee Mowle Mercedes of Dominik Baumann, with the no8 SVC Sport Management Lamborghini in third and the championship leading no46 Ebimotors Lamborghini in 4th.
Qualifying for Round 5 of the Michelin Le Mans Cup at Spa-Francorchamps will take place at 11h40 on Saturday 23 September.
