The first session of the 2020 Michelin Le Mans Cup season was headed by the no24 United Autosports Ligier-Nissan which finished the 60-minute session two tenths ahead of the no98 Motorsport98 Ligier.
Andy Meyrick posted the best lap time of 1m48.709 in the no24 Ligier around the 5.77km Circuit Paul Ricard, with Dino Lunardi setting the best time in the second placed car of 1m48.923.The French driver was 0.214s behind Meyrick and only 0.016s ahead of the third fastest car, the no3 DKR Engineering Duqueine M30-D08-Nissan with reigning champion Laurents Hörr at the wheel.
The GT3 field was led by the no67 Kessel Racing Ferrari with Paolo Ruberti posting a 1m53.935, just 0.098s ahead of his teammate David Perel in the no74 Ferrari 488 GT3 at the end of the session.Reigning champion Giacomo Piccini was third quickest in the no8 Iron Lynx Ferrari with a 1m54.150 lap, just 0.239s ahead of the no2 Pzoberer Zürichsee by TFT Porsche 911 GT3 R of Julien Andlauer.
The second Free Practice session of the weekend will take place at 17h00 this afternoon.
