Road To Le Mans seen by Nicolas Schatz (Norma M30 n°21 – DB Autosport)

Nicolas Schatz is racing this season in the Michelin Le Mans Cup with DB Autosport and alongside Jacques Wolff. He will participate for the first time in the Road To Le Mans event and we met him to get to know his impressions one week before arriving in the mythical track of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

What is your feeling about the 24 Hours of Le Mans track and what is your favourite part?

It will be my first time on this track. My first feeling is that I need to stay humble because I will race on one of the most mythical race tracks and a very challenging lay out. I’m’ also very excited: tackle the Hunaudières straight and the Porsche “S” is something that a lot of drivers dream of. And in one week it will be my turn.

You are now standing 6^th in the championship classification with Jacques Wolff, what will be your goal for Road To Le Mans?

I always start a meeting with the same state of mind: do my best. Being reliable and get close the to best times during the race are my goals. With Jacques (Wolff) my teammate we don’t have any pressure. We know that the level of the race will be high, so we will try to have a clean race and to score points for the Championship.

What do you think of the impressive grid with 42 LMP3 cars?

The grid is magnificent! This season the battles are great and the level is high. Having so many cars on the starting line is great as a driver. It also shows that the Series is in good shape.
