The no66 Rinaldi Racing Duqueine set the pace in the first practice session of the Monza race weekend with Argentina’s Nicolas Varrone posting a 1m44.641 lap for the German team. The best lap was just 0.044s ahead of the no37 Cool Racing Ligier of Josh Skelton and 0.168s ahead of the no22 United Autosports Ligier of Scott Andrews at the end of the 60-minute session.
The GT3 class was headed by the no97 TF Sport Aston Martin Vantage, with Ross Gunn posting a 1m48.647 lap time, over 0.5 seconds ahead of the second fastest car in the class, the no8 Iron Lynx Ferrari of Paolo Ruberti, with the no2 Pzoberer Zürichsee by TFT Porsche third quickest, 0.964s behind the lead car.
The session was interrupted by a red flag caused by a collision between the no8 Ferrari and the no16 Ligier.The incident was quickly dealt with by the marshals and the session resumed with a minimum delay.
