Ricardo has a unique career despite his young age; he was the inaugural Nissan PlayStation GT Academy International Race Camp winner in 2014. To be first among hundreds of thousands Gran Turismo gamers is not easy but for Ricardo it paid off - he became a regular NISMO race driver. He has now competed for three seasons in the Blancpain Endurance Series and the Pirelli World Challenge with Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3.
In 2017 Ricardo had his first experience with Le Mans Prototypes when he drove the Oreca LMP2 in the European Le Mans Series final race at Portimao.

Ricardo Sanchez: "I look forward to be back in Europe competing on race tracks that I know. A full season in this competitive championship will be a real challenge for me. I have two very good bronze drivers with me and SPV Racing has proven that their Ligier LMP3 is fast so we are aiming for podiums and hope to be a contender in the overall championship.

Stanley Dickens, SPV Racing Team Manager: "I’m looking forward to work with Ricardo through the season. His performance should certainly boost the SPV-team where we also have Alvaro and Andy who both are fast bronze drivers. We had a good winter test season and are coming well prepared to the first race at Paul Ricard. But we have all respect for the competition in the Michelin Le Mans Cup which for sure will be very tough this year. With twentytwo LMP3-cars in the championship we can expect hard work.
