Qualifying: DKR and Ebimotors Take Class Poles in Le Castellet

Jean Glorieux took his fourth pole position of the season in the DKR Engineering Norma M30-Nissan and will start the 120-minute race this afternoon from the front of the grid at Le Castellet. In the 30 degree sunny conditions the Belgian driver put in a 2m03.378 lap to clinch the top spot by 0.8s from the no65 Graff Ligier of Adrien Chila.

Row two will be headed by race winner Tony Wells in the no79 Nielsen Racing Ligier with a 2m05.073 and Alain Costa in the no99 N’Race Ligier will line up alongside the British driver after posting a 2m05.319 best lap.

In the GT3 category Emanuele Busnelli took his third pole of the 2017 season in the no46 Ebimotors Lamborghini Huracan by the narrowest of margins from Flick Haigh in the no75 Optimum Racing Audi R8 LMS. 

The Italian set several fast laps during the session only to have them deleted for exceeding the track limits, however he soon managed to get a couple of good laps under his belt with a best of 2m08.602 on lap 6 at Le Castellet.  Flick Haigh kept pace with the lead car in her Audi R8 and posted a 2m08.660 lap at the end of the 15 minute session, just 0.058 seconds off the pole time.

The two Mercedes AMG GT3s had their own private battle with the no5 RAM Racing Mercedes of Ramon Vos getting the upper hand on the last lap to take third place on the grid ahead of Lee Mowle in the no7 Lee Mowle Mercedes AMG.  The no8 SVC Sport Management Lamborghini, which was damaged in Free Practice yesterday, didn’t take part in the session.
