The final Free Practice session of the 2016 Michelin GT3 Le Mans Cup saw the no88 Mentos Racing Porsche 911 top the time sheets with Egidio Perfetti setting a 1m50.997 on a wet track. In the afternoon the clouds gathered over the Autodromo do Estoril and the rain started to fall just before the start of the 60-minute practice.
There was one red flag when the no71 AF Corse Ferrari of Mads Radmussen spun off the track into the gravel and the session was halted to recover the Dane’s F458. Practice resumed shortly afterwards and continued uninterrupted until the chequered flag.
The Mentos Racing Porsche was 0.168 seconds ahead of the no51 AF Corse Ferrari 488 of Francesco Castellacci and 0.474 seconds in front of the Teams Championship leader, the no34 TF Sport Aston Martin Vantage. The no72 SMP Racing Ferrari F488 continued to struggle and was down in 6th place 1.179 seconds adrift of the best time when the chequered flag was shown.
Qualifying for the final round of the 2016 Michelin GT3 Le Mans Cup will take place at 11:05 tomorrow morning, with the 2-hour race getting underway at 16h45.
