The opening track session of the Road to Le Mans weekend saw the no25 Lanan Racing Norma M30-Nissan post the fastest time in the 60-minute Free Practice 1 with Duncan Tappy lapping the full 13.6km La Sarthe circuit with a 3m54.062 to head the 50 car grid.
Tappy was 0.433s ahead of the no33 United Autosports Ligier of reigning ELMS LMP3 drivers’ champion Sean Rayhall and 0.479s ahead of the no9 Cool Racing Norma of Scott Andrews.
The top GT3 contender was the no71 AF Corse Ferrari F488 of Marco Cioci, the Italian setting a 4m00.215 lap, nearly one second ahead of the no51 Spirit of Race Ferrari of Maurizio Mediani, who set a 4m01.137 lap time.
Free Practice 2 will take place tomorrow morning at 09h00 and will be followed by qualifying for both 55-minute races at 13h30 and the opening race of the weekend at 17h30.
