The no85 R-ace GP Duqueine was the quickest of the 42 cars in the first ever Michelin Le Mans Cup Free Practice at Silverstone with Hadrien David setting the benchmark time of 1m54.002.
FP1 was cut short after a red flag was shown to stop the session after the no17 Kessel Racing Ferrari of Lorenzo Innocenti went off into the barriers at Pit Entry. The driver was OK but the car had to lifted away, with barrier repairs needed to allow track action to continue.This was going to take longer than the 20 minutes left on the clock, so the Race Director declared the session over.
The no85 Duqueine was 0.294s ahead of the second fastest car, the no66 Rinaldi Racing Ligier of Griffin Peebles, which was also the fastest car in the LMP3 Pro/Am class. The no16 Team Virage Ligier was third fastest overall and second fastest in LMP3 with Theo Micouris setting a 1m54.437, 0.435s behind the lead car and 0.172s ahead of the no50 23Events Racing of Matteo Quintarelli.
LMP3 Pro/Am race winner Gillian Henrion was second fastest in category and 7th fastest overall in the no98 Motorsport98 Liger with a 1m55.173, with the championship leading no71 Rinaldi Racing Ligier third fastest in class in 10th overall after Felipe Laser posted a 1m55.336.
The GT3 category was headed by the no11 Code Racing Development Aston Martin Vantage with Valentin Hasse Clot posting the best time of 1m59.097, 1.119s ahead of the second fastest car, the no33 Kessel Racing Ferrari of David Fumanelli, with the championship leading no51 AF Corse Ferrari in third.
