Fourteen different countries will be represented by the teams and drivers and eleven will feature drivers of the same nationality as the team, meaning the team can truly be counted on to fly their national flag on the European stage.

In LMP3 there are no less than eight cars with drivers and teams from the same country. Four entries will represent the United Kingdom, with two cars entered by 2017 Vice Champions Ecurie Ecosse/Nielsen, both driven by all British crews. The no2 Ligier will be driven by Tony Wells and James Littlejohn, while the no79 Ligier will have two flying Scots with Colin Noble being joined by Alasdair McCaig.  Lanan Racing are entering a single Norma M30 for Michael Benham and Duncan Tappy, while Ross Warburton and Alex Kapadia team up again in the no59 RLR MSport Ligier JS P3.

There are three all French team line ups with Graff entering two cars with all four drivers racing under the red, white and blue tricolor. The no39 Norma M30 will be driven by father and son duo Eric and Adrien Trouillet.  Graff will also run a Ligier JS P3 for Adrien Chila and Marc-Antoine Dannielou. The third all French entry is the no21 Norma M30 run by DB Autosport, with Nicolas Schatz and Jacques Wolff sharing the driving duties.

As well as entering a car in the ELMS LMP3 class Swiss outfit Cool Racing will also run in the LMP3 category in the Michelin Le Mans Cup. As well as racing the no4 Ligier in the ELMS, Swiss duo Alexandre Coigny and Antonin Borga will compete in the MLMC.

In the GT3 category there are two all Italian line ups. Reigning 2017 champions Ebimotors will enter a Porsche 911 GT3 R this year with Alessandro Baccani and Paolo Venerosi, while the AF Corse entered Ferrari F488 will be driven by Pierguisepe Perazzini and Marco Cioci.

The pre season test for the 2018 Michelin Le Mans Cup will take place on Wednesday 11 April at the Circuit Paul Ricard in France, which will be followed by round 1 on Saturday 14 April.
