The no3 DKR Engineering Norma-Nissan of Alexander Toril took the first pole position of the weekend with the fastest LMP3 lap around the 13.6km circuit at La Sarthe.
The Spanish driver set a blistering 3m50.258 lap in the warm sunshine, 1.433 seconds ahead of the no48 Kox Racing Ligier driven by Peter Kox. The no18 M.Racing YMR Ligier of Alexandre Cougnaud was third quickest and will line up on the second row in this afternoon race alongside Round 1 winner Colin Noble in the no79 Nielsen Racing Ligier.
In GT3 it was the no20 Gulf Racing Porsche 911 of Ben Barker who took the class pole with a 3m56.511 lap, 1.3 seconds ahead of the no95 Spirit of Race Ferrari of Maurizio Mediani and 2.8 seconds ahead of Joe Osborne in the no75 Optimum Racing Audi R8 LMS
Race 1 of the Road to Le Mans weekend will take place later today with the 55-minute race getting underway at 17h30.
