SPV Racing returns to the Michelin Le Mans Cup 2018 with Ligier LMP3

LMC - 07/03/2018

Spanish – Swedish Team based in Malaga Spain at Costa del Sol is returning to the Michelin Le Mans Cup 2018 with at least one Ligier LMP3. The Team will field an experienced line up with Spanish Malaga based driver Alvaro Fontes and Andy Cummings from Birmingham UK.

Ahead of the season start at Circuit Paul Ricard on April 14th SPV Racing is on March 6th testing at Algarve International Circuit outside Portimao Portugal.
The Algarve circuit is a demanding circuit with both high and low speed corners but mostly it is known for the large elevation changes. The Portimao circuit is also the host of the final round in the Michelin Le Mans Cup on October 27th
SPV Racing CEO Raul Garcia: We are very happy to have Alvaro and Andy as drivers in the Michelin LeMans Cup they proved last year that they were very fast with pole position at Red Bull Ring and fifth in the Road to Le Mans qualifying, both are experienced drivers that work very well together and with the team. For the Road to LeMans Races at Le Mans Andy Cummings will be joined by Bradley Ellis who is one of the UK’s leading GT and sports car racers crowned British GT Champion in 2007 and runner up in the FIA GT3 championship 2008.
Andy Cummings driver at SPV Racing: I look forward very much to return to the Michelin Le Mans Cup for the 2018 season and to drive together with two very good drivers and friends (Alvaro Fontes and Bradley Ellis) that I have both competing and teamed up with through my career.
Last year’s Road to Le Mans experience was fantastic and having experienced the track and the atmosphere, I’m excited to back together with Bradley with who I won the Radical European Masters Championship in 2014.
Alvaro Fontes driver at SPV Racing: For me it will be an interesting season combining the testing of the Tesla P100DL for the Electric Production Car Series and driving in the Michelin Le Mans Cup. I look forward to work with the team and share the wheel with Andy Cummings.
Bradley Ellis driver at SPV Racing: For me LeMans 24H has always been a target and to do Road to Le Mans with my friend Andy Cummings will be fantastic. The test at Portimao will be my first experience in a LMP 3 and I look forward to feel the difference between it GT3.
Lars GV Lindberg Team Manager SPV Racing: It is great to be back with a strong entry in the Michelin Le Mans Cup, we have a fast car, good team and a strong driver line up. We hope to be able to enter a second LMP 3 car before the season start and possibly to take the step up to LMP 2 toward the end of the season for one or two races.
