Q: A few days before Road To Le Mans, how do you feel?
“I have really been looking forward to get back on that track. It’s not only a track, it’s a historic place where everyone within the motorsport wants to be this week. I raced the 24 hours of Le Mans with Formula Racing in 2016 and since then I have been fighting to get back. Right now I’m second in the Le Mans Cup with Fabien Lavergne and Luzich Racing. If we win this championship, we’ll have an entry for the 2020 race. That could be awesome. Besides that, I look forward to arriving at the track and feel the atmosphere. Even though I’m not a part of the big race this year, the Road to Le Mans race makes you feel a part of it. I also have another job to do – my friend and former teammate Pier Guidi will drive for AF Corse, so I’ll be there in the pit garage to support him and the crew!”
Q: As a Danish driver, considering all the history, what does it represent to race on the mythical track of the 24 Hours of Le Mans?
“Racing the 24 hours of Le Mans have been my dream since a was just a little karting driver. The endurance races with the long runs, the driver changes, the different classes fighting on the same track, the strategy … all that combined with the myth of Le Mans is what I have always dreamed about being a part of.”
Q: You are now second of the GT3 classification with Luzich Racing, what are your expectations for the coming event?
“Since the Road to Le Mans race is something everyone wants to win, there’ll be more cars on the grid than we’re used to. I hope that some of those cars can grab some of the championship points from our rivals. Since I drove 12 of the 24 hours in the 2016 race, I know the track pretty good and hope this will also be an advantage for us.”
