The session was cut short by 5-minutes when the red flag was shown to recover the no25 Norma, which had stopped at T8 after slowing earlier in the lap with Benham at the wheel.
The leading car was 0.545s ahead of the nearest rival after Duncan Tappy set a 2m14.718 lap around the 7km Spa-Francorchamps circuit. The second fastest car was the no2 Nielsen Racing Norma, with Colin Noble setting the best time of 2m15.263. The two DKR Engineering Normas were 3rd and 4th fastest, with the no3 car just 0.023s behind the no2 Norma.
The fastest Ligier was 5th fastest with no98 Motorsport98 of Belgian Eric De Doncker and French co-driver Dino Lunardi, with Lunardi posting a 2m16.509 lap.
The fastest GT3 car was the no71 Luzich Racing Ferrari 488 GT3 of Mikkel Mac and Fabien Lavergne, with Mac posting a 2m18.652 lap in 13th overall. The second fastest GT3 car was the no60 Kessel Racing Ferrari, with Andrea Piccini setting a 2m19.217 lap, with the no8 Kessel 488 in third, Giacomo just 0.068s slower than his brother.
The H24 Racing LMPH2G completed its first ever competitive session in the Innovation Class, with Norman Nato and Olivier Lombard completing the session is a best time of 2m33.445 in 27th overall.
The second Free Practice session will take place at 16h55 this afternoon.
