Six Rounds and Seven Races in 2020 for the Michelin Le Mans Cup

LMC - 20/09/2019

The 2020 Michelin Le Mans Cup calendar has been unveiled with the six circuits that hosted the 2019 season once again combining to provide the perfect stage for the series that is an important step on the endurance racing ladder.

The series will get underway at the start of April with the official test at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, followed by the first 2-hour race of the 2020 season at the Spanish circuit on Saturday 4th April.

The race at Monza in Italy will follow one month later, with the two 55-minute races on the full 13km La Sarthe circuit at Le Mans in June, the second being held on the morning of the greatest motor sport race in the world, the 88th edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

In July the Michelin Le Mans Cup returns to the 2-hour format at Le Castellet on the 18th July, with Spa-Francorchamps in September and the series concludes at Portimão on the 24th October.

At all events, with the exception of the Road to Le Mans, the Michelin Le Mans Cup will be with the European Le Mans Series and the newly launched Ligier European Series.

Gérard Neveu, CEO of the Michelin Le Mans Cup: “We are very pleased to announce the 2020 calendar for the Michelin Le Mans Cup. The series features some of the best endurance racing teams with a combination of some of the top professional drivers alongside some highly talented bronze level racers.”

“It is all about giving the bronze drivers the opportunity to maximise their track time and to allow them to gain the experience to move up to the ELMS and, ultimately, compete in the FIA WEC and at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The fact that the series continues to grow is testament to success of this strategy.”

“In 2020 the Michelin Le Mans Cup will feature alongside the European Le Mans Series and the brand new Ligier European Series at five of the six rounds to create a global endurance event that will race on the most challenging and high-profile circuits in Europe.”
