The session was red flagged after a collision between the no23 United Autosports Ligier and the no5 DKR Engineering Norma. The session resumed with just under 7 minutes remaining on the clock, which saw several cars vying for the top spot.
The no25 Lanan Racing Norma of Michael Benham posted a 1m53.132 but with less than a minute left the no3 DKR Engineering Norma set the fastest lap of the session ahead of the no9 Graff Norma of Adrien Chila by 0.895s. The no25 Lanan Racing Norma was third fastest.
The GT3 pole went to the no71 Luzich Racing Ferrari F488 GT3 of Fabien Lavergne, the French driver lapping the Paul Ricard track in a time of 1m54.940, denying another pole position for reigning champion Sergio Pianezzola by 0.346 seconds.
