Lanan Racing Fastest in Free Practice 1 in Barcelona

The first Free Practice session of the weekend in Barcelona saw the 29 competitors take to the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya under blue skies with temperatures approaching 29 degrees with a track temperature of 40 degrees. The 60-minute Free Practice session was punctuated by a red flag and a full course yellow to recover some cars that had stopped on track.

The fastest car in Free Practice 1 was the no25 Lanan Racing Norma-Nissan of Duncan Tappy and Michael Benham, the championship leaders finishing the session on a 1m41.822, with Tappy setting the quickest time.  They were 0.742s ahead of the no3 DKR Engineering Norma with Laurents Hörr posting a 1m42.564.

The no39 Graff Norma was third quickest, with the no98 Motorsport98 Ligier in fourth, 1.477s behind the lead car.

In GT3 it was the no71 Luzich Racing Ferrari out in front, with championship leader Mikkel Mac setting a 1m45.890.  The no8 Kessel Racing Ferrari 488 GT3 of Giacomo Piccini was second fastest, 0.4s behind the no71 Ferrari.  The no88 Ebimotors Porsche was third fastest with Alessandro Baccani posting a 1m46.541 lap around the 4.655km track.

The second Free Practice session will begin 20h15 this evening.
